Every morning I turn on NPR and know that thousands of people will die from starvation in Haiti while we New Yorkers enjoy our rice and beans which we can just get right around the corner.
Yesterday while the internet was on the blink at home and I was at Whole Foods using their wifi I saw a sign for an event fundraiser that will be held at the WF wine store tonight on 97th street and Columbus. If you donate $10 you can drink a lot of wine and eat hors d’oeuvres. Maybe you can go to it.
