Ladurée is bullshit. It’s the Magnolia Bakery of Paris - lines of hapless Japanese and American tourists lining up for hours for an overly sweet, unnecessarily creamy and ridiculously priced status symbol that might, for a moment, make them feel like Carrie Bradshaw before they go back to feeling bad about their love handles (more on cupcakes and their rampant individualism soon). I bet the McDonald’s macaroons cost less, taste better.
